About The Position

The Employee Growth and Culture Manager is responsible for creating, supporting and sustaining culture initiatives that enhance engagement, belonging, and organizational effectiveness. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, this role designs and leads training programs across the employee lifecycle while partnering with leaders to strengthen people management, teamwork, and alignment with organizational values. This role is responsible for creating employee development experiences that reflect the organization’s values and commitment to equity, dignity, and well-being. Through employee engagement initiatives and learning programs, the Manager helps foster a workplace that prioritizes emotional well-being, safety, and respect, built with people, not just policies, in mind.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in employee development, learning and development, or people & culture and belonging roles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training, learning programs, or leadership development initiatives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of employment laws, practices, compliance, and legal requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, and organizational policy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and project management software.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading employee engagement or affinity groups preferred.
  • Experience working in a union environment, legal services or non-profit setting preferred.
  • Proven project management, facilitation, and instructional design skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive employee development and training strategies aligned with organizational goals and culture.
  • Deliver learning programs that support employee growth across the full lifecycle, from onboarding through advancement and offboarding.
  • Develop and facilitate training related to organizational values, cultural expectations, communication, collaboration, and employee well-being.
  • Lead leadership and supervisor development initiatives focused on people management, inclusive leadership, and culture stewardship.
  • Assess training needs using data from engagement surveys, feedback, and organizational priorities; translate findings into actionable learning solutions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of development programs and continuously improve learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Design and manage employee engagement programs such as Employee Resource Groups, peer mentoring and learning communities.
  • Lead employee engagement surveys, focus groups, and listening sessions; translate results into measurable action plans.
  • Partner with staff to co-create initiatives related to wellness, belonging, recognition, and career development.
  • Support storytelling, recognition, and communications that reinforce culture, learning, and shared values.
  • Coach and advise supervisors and managers on supporting employee development, engagement, and inclusive team cultures.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Managing Attorneys to define, model, and reinforce leadership behaviors aligned with organizational values.
  • Support organizational change initiatives by equipping leaders with training, tools, and communication strategies.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management on culture- and development-related challenges and organizational dynamics.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen collaboration, accountability, and cross-team learning.
  • Cross-train and provide support across critical People & Culture functions as needed.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture team members to embed employee development and culture best practices into policies, programs, and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
