About The Position

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation’s People & Culture team is seeking an engaged, skillful communicator and consensus maker to join their team as an Employee Engagement Specialist for a 22-month term. This role offers an opportunity to utilize skills in change management and employee communications to connect teams with necessary information and support, preparing them for evolving changes within WCLC. Reporting to the Manager, Employee Engagement, the specialist will help teams navigate changes related to people, processes, and technology by identifying their needs and facilitating support. This involves working with leaders to plan team engagement, supporting two-way employee communication, developing support materials for leaders, and responding to evolving team needs. The ideal candidate enjoys engaging with diverse teams and topics, problem-solving for programs and projects, and managing emergent situations responsively. The role is supported by the Employee Engagement and broader People and Culture teams, offering opportunities to develop skills in planning, coordination, communication, and collaborative work.

Nice To Haves

  • A formal background on organizational change management and employee communications is a definite asset
  • A background in communications, training, project management/coordination, or business analysis may make you a fit for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute communications and engagement plans to support affected teams and stakeholders during a change
  • Work with leaders and teams to identify and help address sources of resistance to change, working closely with stakeholders to avoid or resolve issues and concerns
  • Work closely with cross-functional project/program teams to help them analyze and document the impacts of the work they’re doing
  • Ensure business leadership have the tools and support they need to help their teams navigate change
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders across WCLC to ensure change management, communication, and training activities are being completed in support of project/program goals
  • Monitor, identify, and celebrate successes related to the change throughout all phases of a project or program
  • Monitor, identify, and address change-related risks and issues as they arise during the course of a project or program
