About The Position

As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients while helping them navigate complex benefits decisions, renewal strategies, and open enrollment initiatives. Your work directly supports client retention, service excellence, and long-term growth by ensuring every client receives responsive, consultative support that helps them meet their employee benefits goals. In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of employee benefits clients and collaborate closely with producers, benefit consultants, carriers, and internal service teams. You'll leverage your expertise in benefits administration, renewals, carrier marketing, and client strategy to deliver meaningful outcomes and strengthen client relationships throughout the year.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of employee benefits account management, consulting, or related client service experience.
  • Experience managing employee benefits renewals, open enrollment activities, benefits administration, and carrier marketing processes.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client priorities.
  • Professional relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Life & Health insurance license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience supporting self-funded clients, including claims reporting, contribution modeling, and benchmarking.
  • Experience with agency management systems and CRM platforms, including Zywave.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits compliance requirements and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships as the primary point of contact for an assigned book of employee benefits clients.
  • Lead renewal and open enrollment activities, including employee presentations, client education, carrier coordination, and policy administration.
  • Analyze renewal options, contribution strategies, benchmarking data, and claims reporting to help clients make informed benefits decisions.
  • Coordinate RFP processes, carrier submissions, and internal workflows to ensure timely and accurate marketing and renewal execution.
  • Deliver proactive consultative service by resolving issues, answering questions, and identifying opportunities to enhance the client experience.
  • Partner with producers, carriers, and internal teams to uncover cross-selling opportunities and support agency growth initiatives.
