About The Position

This position is responsible for providing an exceptional employee experience by delivering first-class customer service and HR support in the areas of onboarding, benefits, engagement, compliance, offboarding, and HRIS. The Employee Advocate will serve as the primary point of contact for dedicated business units, acting as a subject matter expert to answer questions on People Services programs, processes, policies, and HRIS. This role will assist in driving change, engagement, and retention within the dedicated business units through communication, training, and feedback. A key responsibility is to deliver a seamless onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they feel welcome, supported, energized, and educated on programs designed for them to thrive, with all onboarding tasks completed within 3 days of their start date. The role also involves administering employee benefit plans, managing leaves of absence and accommodations, guiding managers through employee relations issues, and organizing company events. Continuous analysis of responsibilities to optimize efficiency and improve the overall employee experience is expected, along with building strong relationships with team members across all business units through respect, openness, and collaboration. Special projects and other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of benefits/general HR processes, regulations, and laws; familiarity with ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, DOL and IRS regulations.
  • Proven ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and handling of sensitive information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; highly organized with ability to prioritization required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Customer-service orientation paired with strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
  • Self-starter who quickly learns new business processes, new systems, and tools.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work well within a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • At the time of hire, employees will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with an HRIS system preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint to include professional work experience creating tables, charts, graphs, and formulas.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dedicated business units; serve as SME to answer questions on People Services programs, processes, policies, and HRIS.
  • Assist in driving change, engagement, and retention within the dedicated business units through communication, training, and feedback.
  • Deliver a seamless onboarding process for new hires where each person feels welcome, supported, energized, and educated on the programs designed for them to thrive; ensure all onboarding tasks are completed within 3 days of their start date.
  • Administer employee benefit plans, including open enrollment, life event changes, terminations, QMCSOs, EOIs, and 401(k) distributions/loans.
  • Assist with annual benefits open enrollment to ensure employees understand their plan options and complete their enrollment for the next plan year.
  • Manage and coordinate all testing required under our drug-free workplace program, including random, DOT, job site-specific, and reasonable suspicion testing.
  • Coordinate enrollment in a drug treatment program when necessary.
  • Administer and document leaves of absence and accommodations, including but not limited to disability, FMLA, ADA, personal, and military leaves; escalate employment decisions to the manager.
  • Guide managers through employee relations, including disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, grievances, and terminations.
  • Review and approve disciplinary actions in Workday.
  • Organize and execute company events, including but not limited to the Company Picnic, Christmas Parties, and the Annual Music City Corporate Challenge.
  • Continuously analyze all areas of responsibility to optimize efficiency and make recommendations to improve the overall employee experience.
  • Build strong relationships with team members across all business units by demonstrating respect and openness to different viewpoints, and ensuring effective collaboration to achieve collective goals.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
