Emissions Test Technician
About The Position
Amentum is seeking an entry-level Vehicle Emissions Technician for its Allen Park Test Labs. Amentum supplies, designs, builds, operates, maintains, and manages automotive test facilities for commercial automotive customers, OEMs, and the international motorsports community. The facilities include wind tunnels, emissions test rooms, soak rooms, altitude chambers, engine and powertrain test cells, and electromagnetic anechoic chambers. The technician performs full-vehicle chassis-roll and evaporative-emissions testing. The position is on the day shift and is full-time, not a contract position. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to drive a manual-transmission vehicle.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Automotive Technology, or two years of college coursework in automotive engineering or related disciplines.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Prior vehicle emissions chassis-roll experience.
Responsibilities
- Install vehicles on chassis rolls.
- Install and check instrumentation.
- Calibrate test-system instrumentation.
- Operate site computers.
- Operate the emissions test site.
- Drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles to precisely follow video road-speed traces for various emissions test cycles.
