About The Position

The EMHS Quality Assurance Specialist shall be responsible for the overall coordination of clinical day-to-day quality assurance operations of the Mental Health Services Program, including utilization review coordination and continuous quality improvement services. The role involves ensuring compliance with program rules and regulations, performing quality assurance on documentation and billing, collecting and analyzing data, documenting findings, assisting with document approvals, and conducting training on clinical documentation standards.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling or closely related field.
  • Clinical License (LMFT, LSCW, LPCC or Licensed Psychologist) required.
  • Sufficient experience and credentials to provide the state required clinical hours of supervision to Associate Therapists.
  • Experience working with children with emotional and behavioral challenges, and families.
  • Must fulfill the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22.
  • Writing, verbal skills, and the ability to compose quality reports and other necessary correspondence are essential.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, including Email, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Able to pass a physical examination; drug clearance; criminal background check; Child Abuse Index check.
  • Must hold a valid California driver’s license with clean DMV history.
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Trinity’s insurance carrier.

  • Experience with Department of Mental Health policies and procedures preferred.
  • Special interest in working with youth.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical day-to-day quality assurance operations of the Mental Health Services Program.
  • Oversee utilization review coordination and continuous quality improvement services.
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations governing the program and County contracts.
  • Perform Quality Assurance on Mental Health documentation and reporting/billing compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy of billing and tracking information.
  • Ensure timely submission of County mandated data collection requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data on clinical outcomes, service delivery, and compliance measures.
  • Document QA review findings related to Mental Health standards and/or State laws.
  • Report QA findings to the Clinical Coordinator and Director of Mental Health Services.
  • Assist with the approval and co-signing for assessments, treatment plans, and other documents.
  • Conduct training on clinical documentation standards and best practices.
  • Interface with the Treatment Team including the Clinical Coordinator, other therapists, Psychiatric and Nursing staff, and Administrative Staff.
