About The Position

The Emerging Store Manager (ESM) is a developmental leadership assignment intended to prepare associates for potential Store Manager opportunities in Walmart US store operations. The associate trains across retail operations, people leadership, merchandising strategy, financial management, customer experience, and community engagement. The assignment has no guaranteed timeframe, but is expected to last no longer than 12 to 18 months, with an expectation of progressing into a Store Manager role within that period. If a Store Manager role is not secured, next steps depend on performance and business needs and may include placement in another role at a different level. The role requires mobility within the assigned region for Store Manager applications and potential placement, as well as successful completion of developmental milestones and competency assessments. The ESM learns to support store financial performance, sales, staffing, customer service, associate development, compliance, asset protection, and safety. The role includes executing business plans, removing barriers to performance, evaluating results, adjusting plans, and building partnerships with stakeholders across the organization. The associate also supports community outreach, company-sponsored programs, and sustainability efforts, while promoting Walmart policies, values, ethics, and the Open Door Policy. The position is based at 1735 S Highway 27, Carrollton, Georgia. The annual salary range is $85,000 to $120,000, with additional annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Certain positions may also receive regional pay zone or complex-structure compensation. Walmart offers benefits including medical, vision, and dental coverage; 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance; paid time off and various leave benefits; disability coverage; discounts; military leave pay; adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement; and the Live Better U education benefit. Benefit eligibility and terms may vary.
