About The Position

MedVet is seeking a collaborative and driven Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant to join its clinical team. The emergency department provides constant supervision to patients so treatment plans are carried out. This role suits someone who can recognize patient distress and respond appropriately, assist with patient recovery, and support client follow-up and education.

The assistant helps ensure quality patient care and complete documentation, oversees stable patients, assists veterinary technicians with restraint, maintains clinical supplies, and keeps treatment areas and department laundry needs in order. Prior veterinary experience is required. The position is for evenings, with flexibility to work additional hours when necessary.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary experience required.

• Excellent client service skills and phone etiquette.
• Ability to multitask, self-motivate, and maintain strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients receive quality care.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
• Provide oversight and care for stable patients.
• Assist Veterinary Technicians with patient restraint.
• Manage restocking of supplies for clinical teams.
• Maintain clean treatment areas and manage department laundry needs.
• Assist with patient recovery and client follow-up and education.
• Identify patient distress and react accordingly.
