About The Position

MedVet is seeking a collaborative and driven Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant to join its clinical team. The emergency department requires constant patient supervision to ensure treatment plans are carried out. The role is suited to someone who can recognize patient distress and respond appropriately, assist with recovery, and support client follow-up and education. The position calls for compassion, teamwork, and leadership in supporting patients, clients, and colleagues.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent client service skills and phone etiquette.
Ability to multitask, self-motivate, and maintain strong attention to detail.
Ability to work successfully both as a team member and autonomously.
Sense of urgency and critical-thinking skills.
Effective patient restraint skills.
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Prior veterinary experience required.

Responsibilities

Ensure patients receive quality care.
Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
Oversee and care for stable patients.
Assist Veterinary Technicians with patient restraint.
Manage restocking supplies for clinical teams.
Maintain clean treatment areas and manage department laundry needs.
