About The Position

Westbridge Veterinary Referral Hospital (WVRH) is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 9-month training and mentorship program. This program aims to prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine, focusing on core competencies, client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration. The program utilizes a hybrid training approach with simulation-based didactic components and authentic training experiences with live patients. Upon completion of the training, there is a 2-year commitment as an ER clinician at Westbridge Veterinary Referral Hospital. The hospital is a modern, 14,000+ square foot facility designed for optimal patient care and equipped with the necessary tools and technology. Emergency doctors manage receiving and inpatient care, with opportunities in soft tissue surgery, and collaborate with in-house specialty departments and a network of specialists across Ethos. The team includes friendly and well-trained support staff with credentialed technicians.

Requirements

Veterinarian passionate about working in emergency medicine.
Team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable.
Work authorization in the United States.
Eligible for TN status may be considered (not eligible for visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

Manage receiving and inpatient care.
Take on soft tissue surgery cases.
Collaborate with in-house specialty departments (IM, SX, ECC) and a broad network of specialists.
Participate in a competency-based curriculum including asynchronous learning, virtual didactic rounds, and journal club meetings.
Attend regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors.
Participate in hands-on surgical and wet labs.
Receive advanced soft tissue surgery training in common ER procedures, if desired, following mentorship.
