About The Position

Angell West is seeking an internship-trained or experienced emergency veterinarian to join their growing team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a developing specialty practice during a period of expansion, which will allow for increased services, a strengthened specialty team, and enhanced resources for patients, clients, and referring veterinarians. The Emergency and Critical Care service is supported by four criticalists, providing a high level of specialty support, mentorship, and case collaboration. The broader medical team includes various specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, avian/exotics, dermatology, general practice, urgent care, and behavior, along with a robust training program for interns. Angell West is a well-established, respected, non-corporate, nonprofit referral hospital that provides emergency veterinarians with the resources and support to practice high-quality medicine without feeling rushed. The caseload and staffing allow for managing both emergency cases and complex hospitalized patients, with ample time for challenging cases. Emergency veterinarians will collaborate closely with criticalists and other specialists, fostering ongoing professional development. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inpatients, overseeing the CCU, receiving emergency patients, and participating in the mentorship and training of interns. Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent degree
  • Completed a rotating internship
  • Strong clinical judgment
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with veterinary and technical staff, clients, and referring veterinarians
