Emergency Veterinarian Medical Director
About The Position
Animal Emergency Center of Yorktown is seeking an experienced emergency veterinarian to lead the development of its after-hours emergency care and help take the hospital to the next level. The role combines providing emergency medicine to patients with leading a new team and shaping hospital protocols and workflows. The hospital treats small animals and some exotic pets and offers emergency and critical care, hospitalization, laser therapy, bloodwork, and most emergency surgeries. Its equipment includes advanced imaging and diagnostic tools, digital X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house pharmacy and laboratory, and fully equipped surgical suites. Weekday shifts run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.; weekend day and overnight shifts are available. The ideal candidate is open to nights and weekends.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
- Current DEA license or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Active veterinary state license.
- USDA accreditation or ability to obtain it upon hire.
- Experienced veterinarian with a strong interest and background in emergency medicine.
