Requirements
- Must be able to read, understand and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer and basic applications
Nice To Haves
- Certification as an Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) preferred
- Current Heavy Truck ASE certifications preferred
- CDL preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on Emergency Vehicles primarily, Pierce Fire Apparatus and Road Rescue Ambulances
- Accomplish repairs and perform services outlined in established technical manuals
- Perform inspection and repair on apparatus components
- Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics utilized during scheduled service intervals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment
- Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing and installing components and removing and installing assemblies
- Utilizes diagnostic tools (both manual and electronic) to assess and evaluate required service/ repairs
- Continued training and certification
