Emergency Vehicle Installer
About The Position
Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring a skilled Emergency Vehicle Installer to join our team in San Bernadino, CA. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy troubleshooting mechanical issues and keeping emergency fleet vehicles running reliably, offering an opportunity to grow your career with a stable national company. The position involves installing, repairing, testing, and removing/replacing 12-volt emergency vehicle equipment such as consoles, weapons racks, partitions, light bars, sirens, strobes, flashers, radios, speakers, OBD cables, in-car video systems, ALPR cameras, MDCs, antennas, and routers. It also includes locating, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicle wiring on new and in-service vehicles.
Requirements
- 5+ years in vehicle upfitting, automotive electronics, car audio, or a related field
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Experience installing emergency lighting; able to identify electrical circuits
- Able to read schematics and technical drawings
- Must be able to lift 50–60 lbs and work in/around vehicles daily
- Good hearing and color vision; able to see and work on small objects
- Detail-oriented, dependable, safety-focused, and a strong communicator
Nice To Haves
- Mobile radio installation experience (Motorola, Kenwood)
- Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification
Responsibilities
