About The Position

The Emergency Dept. Technician (ED Tech II) assists in the care of patients under the direction of a registered nurse. This role involves performing triage, registration, basic lab tests, EKGs, and related routine, non-clinical nursing care. The technician is responsible for obtaining data, evaluating care needs, and documenting patient condition and care provided. Additionally, the ED Tech II greets, assists, and directs patients and visitors, and monitors activity to foster a friendly and caring environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or related vocational training is required.
• 6 months of experience in an acute setting patient care role is required.
• EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, active enrollment in EMT Paramedic program with IV training completion or CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

• 6 months of experience in emergency trauma care is preferred.
