About The Position

The Emergency Technician II, under the direction of a registered nurse, assists in the care of patients by performing triage, registration, basic lab tests, EKG's and related routine, non-clinical nursing care. The technician is able to obtain data and evaluate care needed and provide appropriate documentation relative to patient condition and care given. The role also involves greeting, assisting, and directing patients and visitors, and monitoring activity to establish a friendly caring environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or related vocational training is required.
  • 6 months of experience in an acute setting patient care role is required.
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, active enrollment in EMT Paramedic program with IV training completion or CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of experience in emergency trauma care is preferred.
