Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic medical terminology.
- Computer familiarity.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- BLS for Providers certification from the American Heart Association required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred
- CNA, MA or EMT desired.
Responsibilities
- Participates as a member of the healthcare team by assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), R.N. and Unit Secretary.
- Performs tasks that contribute to the smooth and efficient flow of patients through the department.
- Provides patient care to newborn, child, adult and geriatric patients as delegated by and under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Uses appropriate communication skills in dealing with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, hospital personnel.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for maintenance and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
- Demonstrates and maintains active working knowledge of the Credentialing competencies for Emergency Services Techs. There will be a three-month leeway between time of hire and mandatory completion of competencies which will be turned in to nurse manager.
