About The Position

The Emergency Services Technician supports patient care while covering administrative and clinical procedures. Working collaboratively with a team of practitioners, the technician helps ensure positive health care outcomes and patient experiences. The position is 0.3 FTE with varied shifts on a 12-hour shift schedule at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current Washington state certification or licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, or MA-C, or successful completion of an EMT training course.
MA-P or EMT holders must obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire.
CNA, NA-R, or EMT holders must obtain MA-P by a date determined by the location; Mary Bridge Hospital and Yakima locations do not require MA-P.
Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience within the last three years as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting.

Responsibilities

Assist in providing direct patient care as directed by a health care practitioner.
Use critical thinking to maintain a safe, therapeutic, and aesthetic environment.
Deliver nursing care using the nursing process and the knowledge gained through nursing education and experience, in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with the team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
