About The Position
The Emergency Services Technician is part of the healthcare team at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland, supporting the Licensed Independent Practitioner, Registered Nurse, and Unit Secretary. The role contributes to team-based patient care and the efficient flow of patients through the Emergency Department. Under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse, the technician provides direct care to newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The position also involves professional communication, maintaining unit equipment and supplies, and keeping current with required credentialing competencies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic medical terminology.
- Computer familiarity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple assignments.
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification.
Nice To Haves
- Previous patient care experience in an emergency environment and/or experience with children.
- CNA, MA, or EMT credential.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
- Maintain the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
- Maintain an active, working knowledge of required Emergency Services Technician credentialing competencies.
- Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and conduct.
