The Emergency Services Assistant (Nursing Assistant) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting patients with daily living activities, performing direct care tasks such as bed baths and making beds, obtaining vital signs, and documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The assistant will also perform unit-specific patient care, collect samples for testing, clean equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies. They are expected to adhere to facility policies, JCAHO standards, and legal requirements, practicing with a customer service approach and demonstrating knowledge of universal precautions and infection control policies. The role also includes applying immobilization devices, stocking patient rooms and carts, and performing room turnovers.
