About The Position

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced emergency department. The unit has 56 beds, with capacity for up to 70 using hall beds, and sees approximately 170–200 patients per day. Staffing ratios are 1:3 for general acuity and 1:4 for low-acuity patients.

The role is on day shifts, with 12-hour shifts and 36 guaranteed hours per week. Weekend work depends on unit needs, and nurses must work holidays during November and December. There are no floating or standby requirements. RNs manage their own ER holds and may receive assistance from inpatient RNs.

Orientation includes one day of compliance training followed by one day of department orientation. Professional colors are accepted for scrubs. The position is based in a busy emergency department in a U.S. city; specific location details are available during the interview.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an emergency room or trauma setting.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• PALS certification.
• TNCC certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
• Manage patient flow and ensure timely assessments and treatments.
• Participate in triage processes, with appropriate testing as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation using the Epic electronic medical record system.
• Manage the nurse’s own ER holds, with possible assistance from inpatient RNs.
