About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse works in an 18-bed emergency room in Centennial, Colorado. The unit typically staffs 3–5 team members, with patient ratios varying by acuity and typically around 4:1. The department has transitioned from a freestanding emergency department to a hospital-based emergency department, with support from respiratory therapy, house supervisors, and additional staff across medical-surgical and ICU floors. On-site laboratory and radiology services include CT, MRI, Echo, X-ray, and ultrasound.

The unit has a seasoned team and a positive, supportive culture that emphasizes teamwork. The role involves providing emergency nursing care and performing procedures such as IV administration, EKG monitoring, Foley catheter insertion, splint application, wound infiltration and care, medication administration, and patient assessments.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of current acute care emergency department RN experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIH certification.
• PALS certification.
• TNCC certification.
• ENPC certification.
• CPI Blue card.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a large hospital setting.
• Prior experience with Meditech.

Responsibilities
