About The Position

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced crisis setting. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The Crisis Psychiatric Unit serves patients aged 5 and older presenting with major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance detoxification needs.

Requirements

• Permanent residence must be more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates must not be former employees of the facility
• Candidates with licensure issues will not be considered
• Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum requirement)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine
• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification (must be current prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of mental health/psychiatric nursing experience
• Minimum 3 years of overall RN experience
• Holiday coverage required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans
• Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care accordingly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
• Identify patient needs and connect them with appropriate resources
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
• Provide compassionate care in a high-acuity psychiatric environment
