The Emergency Preparedness Director is responsible for administering the emergency management and business continuity programs to ensure the safety of medical center property, patients, visitors, contractors, and employees. This role involves developing policies and procedures to comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements, coordinating enterprise-wide business continuity and recovery plans, and implementing programs for monitoring and responding to disaster management areas. The position also includes providing educational and training programs, assessing enterprise-wide vulnerabilities, reviewing emergency management aspects in building projects, and responding to various disaster or emergency situations. Additionally, the Director manages personnel and finances for the department, oversees the Triad Healthcare Preparedness Coalition and State Medical Assistance Team, serves as a liaison to state and local planning boards, and maintains relationships with community response partners.
