About The Position

This is a Full-Time Charge Nurse position in the Emergency Department. The role requires night and day availability. The application deadline is open until June 8, 2026. The position involves leadership, direct patient care, coordination of care, and ensuring regulatory compliance within the Emergency Department. Additional unit-specific duties may apply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • BLS and ACLS certification (required).
  • Additional certifications depending on unit (e.g., PALS, TNCC, etc.).
  • Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work.

Responsibilities

  • Assign nursing staff based on patient acuity and staff competency.
  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and guidance to nursing staff.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and adjust treatment based on evolving conditions in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
  • Perform and oversee clinical tasks such as administering medications, wound care, starting IVs, and managing complex or high-acuity cases, ensuring timely and accurate care delivery.
  • Provide clear education on diagnoses, treatments, and recovery plans, ensuring patients and families understand their care and feel supported during decision-making.
  • Serve as the key liaison among healthcare team members, patients, and families, ensuring smooth communication, timely interventions, and cohesive care across all shifts.
  • Manage daily shift operations, including staffing adjustments, patient flow, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities specific to certain units (e.g., Emergency, ICU, Surgery, etc.) as outlined in unit addendums.
