About The Position
We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM) for a Locum Tenens position in Laredo, Texas. This role involves providing comprehensive emergency medical care in a Level III Trauma Center with an average daily volume of 67 patients. The physician will manage a 13-bed Emergency Department, including regular beds, negative pressure rooms, trauma bays, and a cardiac room. Responsibilities include handling general ED cases, trauma, pediatric transfers, and behavioral health cases. Collaboration with a multi-specialty backup team and support staff, including APPs and RNs, is essential. The position requires maintaining meticulous medical records using the Cerner EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Certified ABEM
- Current Texas Medical License (required)
- DEA (may be in process)
- ATLS, ACLS, PALS required
- Clean file required
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a Level III Trauma Center.
- Manage a 13-bed ED with support from APP coverage.
- Coordinate transfers for complex pediatric cases.
- Collaborate with multi-specialty backup team including Cath Lab, ICU, and Neurosurgery.
- Maintain meticulous medical records in Cerner EMR.
