About The Position

Skilled Wound Care, a premier national physician group, is hiring Emergency Medicine Physicians in Washington, D.C. to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area. This role offers a no-call, no-nights Emergency Medicine Physician job with a high-impact career without the corporate red tape. It is an alternative to traditional Emergency Medicine, offering a Monday-Friday daytime physician job with no overnight shifts, weekends, or holidays, allowing for a regular sleep schedule and more family time. The position allows physicians to continue using their procedural skills, work in a calmer clinical setting away from ED crowding and safety concerns, follow patients through healing, and have clinical autonomy. The company also provides custom software designed to reduce administrative time.

Requirements

Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
DEA License: Or eligibility to obtain one
Open Background: We welcome Emergency Medicine physicians, as well as surgeons of all backgrounds and Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians.
No previous wound care experience is required; we provide comprehensive wound care training

Responsibilities

Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures
Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds
Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols
Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, where you follow patients through healing
