About The Position
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a Locum Tenens position in North Adams, MA. This role involves providing emergency medical care in an inpatient/outpatient setting, primarily covering night shifts. The annual ER volume is 55,000, with 30% of ED patients admitted. The department has 32 beds and is a Level III Trauma Center. The physician will collaborate with APP coverage and the hospitalist service for admissions and must adhere to trauma Level III protocols, responding within 30 minutes when on call. Temporary privileges are available, and the provider must be local.
Requirements
- ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency)
- Active Massachusetts license (highly preferred)
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications
- Provider must be local (no flights)
- Self-Query NPDB required at presentation
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care to patients.
- Work primarily night shifts, with shifts varying between 7p-7a, 1p-9p, and 3p-11p.
- Collaborate with APP coverage and hospitalist service for admissions.
- Adhere to trauma Level III protocols and ensure timely response within 30 minutes when on call.
- Maintain compliance with all credentialing, licensing, and certification requirements.
