About The Position

Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team at Riverside Doctors' Hospital Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia. The ideal candidate will support the commitment to providing the right care, in the right place, at the right time to enhance patient well-being and improve health. This role involves supporting the Riverside Care Difference, which emphasizes quality, safety, and service. The Emergency Department team delivers lifesaving care 24/7, 365 days a year, across five emergency rooms in southeastern Virginia, including the region's only accredited Emergency and Trauma Center.

Requirements

  • Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine (Required)
  • 1-3 years successful completion of residency or demonstrated experience in medical specialty (Required)
  • Physician License (MD/DO) - Virginia Board of Medicine (Required)
  • Valid DEA of controlled substances registration (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical professional coverage in accordance with reasonable schedules of coverage prepared by RMG and by the Practice.
  • Be responsible for the care of all patients assigned during the scheduled period of coverage.
  • Complete any emergency treatment begun or arrange for a succeeding physician to complete it upon completion of the scheduled period of services.
  • Complete medical records for all patients treated, including relevant history, physical examination, laboratory reports, x-ray interpretations, diagnosis, and disposition with instructions to the patient.
  • Manage all business aspects of the Practice, including human resources issues, safe work practices, short and long term planning, monitoring of expenses, departmental budgets, billing, and committee assignments as they pertain to RMG, in conjunction with other physicians.
  • Maintain the financial viability of the Practice and achieve established financial goals.
  • Comply with the principles of ethics of the American Medical Association, all federal, state and municipal laws regulating the practice of medicine, the standards of The Joint Commission, and the rules and regulations of the Practice and RMG.
  • Render services in compliance with the standards of The Joint Commission.
  • Use currently approved methods and techniques of the professional specialty in the services to be rendered.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures in regard to the Riverside Health System Compliance and Ethics Program.
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the RMG Physician Compact.
  • Be actively engaged in decisions regarding provider recruitment and participate in the interview process for provider candidates, including after-hours events.
