About The Position

We are seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens coverage in Lafayette & Michigan City, IN. This role involves providing clinical coverage in a hospital setting, specifically within the Emergency Department. The position requires managing a high volume of annual ED visits, including all ages, general emergency medicine, and trauma cases. The Emergency Department is a 33-bed unit with 3 trauma bays and is a Level III Trauma Center. Specialty backup is available, along with NP/PA coverage and scribe support.

Requirements

• Active IN license, IN Controlled Substance license, and DEA required
• Board Certified ABEM/AOBEM or ABMS-recognized specialty with qualifying ED experience
• BLS certification
• EM residency graduates accepted; IM physicians require 5 years continuous high-volume ED experience
• Case logs and CME attestation required
• Hospital privileges required

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency department coverage across Indiana locations
• Evaluate and treat acute and critical patients
• Perform emergency procedures and moderate sedation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and APP staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
