Provide comprehensive medical care within an established remote clinical environment supporting personnel at Eareckson Air Station. This role combines emergency response, primary care, chronic disease management, and medical leadership within a professionally managed healthcare setting where clinical decision-making, care coordination, and operational continuity are essential to patient outcomes. This position is best suited for clinicians comfortable practicing with a high degree of autonomy in a remote Alaska environment.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license in at least one U.S. state, District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico
  • Physician Assistant degree from an accredited institution with extensive emergency room experience
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications and DEA license
  • Ability to respond to on-site medical emergencies within 30 minutes when on assignment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required federal background screening (NACI/Tier 1 equivalent) if working more than 180 days within a fiscal year
  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required
  • Willingness to work in a remote island-based healthcare environment for extended assignments

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in high-acuity remote, rural, military, or international healthcare environments
  • Experience coordinating medical evacuations and remote healthcare logistics
  • ATLS certification
  • Experience with telemedicine, teleradiology, and independent X-ray interpretation

Responsibilities

  • Provide acute, urgent, and emergency medical care within an independently operated remote clinic environment
  • Respond to medical emergencies and stabilize patients until evacuation or higher-level care is available
  • Coordinate and manage medical evacuations, including communication and care coordination activities
  • Support diagnostic and treatment services through telemedicine, teleradiology collaboration, and basic X-ray interpretation
  • Maintain clinical oversight activities including medical documentation, infection control standards, patient safety practices, and healthcare readiness
  • Supervise medical staff workflows and support coordinated healthcare delivery across the site
  • Maintain clinic equipment, medications, and medical supplies to support continuous patient care delivery in collaboration with clinical and administrative partners
  • Ensure accurate medical record documentation and regulatory compliance in accordance with federal healthcare standards
