About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide exceptional patient care across two modern emergency departments near Islamorada. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Active Florida NP or PA license, or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in a hospital-based emergency department
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Current ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems, specifically Cerner EMR
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in emergency medicine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in small, fast-paced emergency department settings
- Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered emergency care
Responsibilities
- Independently assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries in emergency department settings
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories for emergency patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory work, imaging studies, and EKGs
- Develop and implement treatment plans for emergency medical conditions
- Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice
- Manage patient flow effectively to ensure timely, quality emergency care delivery
- Collaborate closely with emergency medicine physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document patient encounters thoroughly using Cerner EMR system
- Provide coverage across two hospital emergency departments in the Florida Keys
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs
Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate: $85/hour as a permanent 1099 contractor
- Annual salary range: $155,000 - $165,000
- Flexible 12-hour shifts (12:00 PM - 8:00 PM schedule)
