Emergency Medicine NP/PA
About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Nags Head, NC. The role is for supplemental coverage in an inpatient setting from May 15 to July 31, 2026. The position is clinical only, requiring the NP/PA to respond to codes but with no ICU/Critical Care duties. The facility has 21 beds, including acute care med/surg, L&D/recovery, and a Nursery Level II. The patient volume is approximately 20 per day, with 6 physicians and 3 APPs in practice. Support services include on-site lab and specialty backup from General Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Telestroke, Anesthesiology, and Radiology. The EMR system used is Epic.
Requirements
- Active NC License
- Board Certified (BC)
- DEA
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS (AHA)
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical coverage in the Emergency Medicine department.
- Respond to codes.
- Manage patients in an inpatient setting.
