The EMT provides safe, professional, and compassionate emergency medical transportation for patients requiring emergent and non-emergent care. Calls may include interfacility transfers, critical care transports, hospital discharges, and emergencies originating from skilled nursing facilities. EMTs assess patients, provide appropriate pre-hospital care within their scope of practice, safely operate the ambulance, and coordinate with healthcare professionals and first responders throughout transport. The role requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced or high-acuity situations. The position offers a variety of full-time schedule options, including 24/72 schedules, 12-hour shifts, 13.5-hour shifts, day and night shifts, school-friendly M/W/F or T/Th/S schedules, and 2-2-3 schedules. EMTs may respond to emergent and non-emergent interfacility transfers, critical care transfers, hospital and facility discharges, and skilled nursing facility emergencies. Team members may use Power-PRO XT cots, LIFEPAK 15 monitors, Sapphire IV pumps, Ventec VOCSN ventilators, Vapotherm high-flow nasal cannula equipment, video laryngoscopy equipment, and i-gel airway devices. The ambulance fleet includes Ford Transit and Dodge ProMaster units with performance-load systems, as well as two Type III ambulance units equipped with power-load systems.
