About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician responds to routine and emergency calls and provides medical evaluation and treatment for patients of all age populations within the scope of EMT-I training. The role requires working under stressful conditions and in all types of weather, with the physical coordination and dexterity needed to lift, carry, extricate, and care for patients. The EMT must have the visual acuity necessary to drive a vehicle during the day or night; corrective lenses are permitted. The position also requires the ability to prioritize work assignments.

Requirements

• High school education.
• Completion of a state-approved EMT-I course of study.
• Current valid driver's license.
• Current Georgia certification.
• Current BLS CPR certification.
• Proficiency in patient care skills within the scope of practice.
• Working knowledge of basic computer applications.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and in all types of weather.
• Motor coordination, manual dexterity, and physical condition sufficient to lift, carry, extricate, and care for patients.
• Near and far visual acuity necessary for driving a vehicle during the day or night; corrective lenses are permitted.

• Previous experience is desirable.
