About The Position

The EMT is a leader, and integral component, of the pre-hospital care provider team, providing basic life support and facilitating advanced life support to any individual in need of care in time of sudden illness or injury. In this fast-paced role, you would provide emergent care in a pre-hospital setting, maintaining treatment standards and protocols. Use your quick thinking skills and the ability to work closely as a team to provide the best patient care possible as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Successful completion of an approved EMT-MAST program or its equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of practical and written examinations administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
  • Current Pennsylvania certification as an EMT
  • Current driver’s license valid in Pennsylvania with a copy on file.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Hazmat Awareness and EVOC

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of pre-hospital basic life support experience
  • Knowledge of medications carried for use by the EMT-Paramedic in the treatment and management of neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients consistent with level of training and certification.
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced life support and resuscitation procedures for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients consistent with level of training and certification.
  • Knowledge, ability, and skills necessary to appropriately assess and manage care.
  • Knowledge, ability, and skills necessary to appropriately operate basic equipment and assist with the operation of advanced equipment.
  • NREMT, PHTLS, BTLS, Fire I or equivalent.
