Emergency Medical Technician
About The Position
The Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent calls for service; provides initial assessment, treatment and transport of ill or injured persons at the basic life support level. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement". Requirements
- Grade 12
- Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- CPR/AED Provider Certification
- Emergency Vehicle Operations training
- Advanced Communication skills
- Advanced Interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in applicable tools and equipment
- Ability to function effectively in periods of high stress/emergent situations
- Thorough knowledge of the SHA and EMS policies and procedures
- Be physically fit and able to perform duties as outlined
- Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
