About The Position

Alton Memorial Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Full-Time EMT to support patient care operations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on clinical experience in a supportive healthcare environment. The EMS department is comprised of 51 employees that man 6 ALS units to cover a 300 square mile area in the riverbend. We have a fleet of 11 ambulances and 1 command unit. We are the primary 911 units for multiple communities and offer a variety of services to all of our patients and families. We live by the words '' To heal often , to comfort always''. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment. Works under on-line and off-line medical control providing basic life support. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN in the Emergency Department or Paramedic.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• No Experience
• No Experience
• Class D (IL) or Class E (MO)
• EMT - applicable state

Nice To Haves

• Full-Time Days
• Rotating schedule every 2 weeks
• 5am-5pm and 6:30am-6:30pm
• Every other weekend rotation
• 12-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists with the delivery of patient care, under the direction of the RN or Paramedic.
• Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care and medical equipment.
• Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations.
• Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels.
