Emergency Medical Technician ( EMT ) - FT - 8pm-8am - Waterbury
About The Position
Saint Mary's Hospital's Waterbury EMS site is seeking dedicated EMTs to provide quality care to local communities. The role involves performing tasks necessary for effective and efficient patient care in pre-hospital settings and/or during intra-facility transfers. EMTs interact professionally with patients, families, hospital staff, the public, and other public safety agencies, providing exemplary care and customer service. The role also includes safely operating and assisting with maintenance of company-owned vehicles and replenishing medical equipment and supplies as needed. This is a full-time, 12-hour overnight position from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain continuing education as required by local Medical Control Authorities and the state's Department of Consumer & Industry Services, where applicable.
- Licensed as an Emergency Medical Responder or EMT-B.
- Current AHA CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license in good standing in Connecticut and eligibility for driving privileges under current company policies and procedures.
- Ability to think and act calmly and quickly in emergency situations.
