About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) reports to the Director of Emergency Medical Services and when on site in a facility to the designated Supervisor/Charge Nurse. EMTs provide direct pre-hospital, emergency and patient care. They assist with the operations of the facilities they serve. The only restriction that has been identified governing their participation in these departments is; No duties can restrict them from responding immediately to any ambulance calls. EMTs shall abide by the Saskatchewan Health Authority and its Affiliates Mission, Vision, Values, Policies and Procedures. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement". Requirements

  • Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)
  • Valid Class 4 driver's license
  • International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
  • Intermediate - Decision making skills

  • Intermediate - Communication skills
  • Intermediate - Written Communication Skills
  • Ability to act professionally, ethically and provide sound judgement

  • Clean Driver's Abstract
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
  • Applicants must upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
  • Those being interviewed are required to bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.
