About The Position

Northwest Ambulance is seeking dedicated and compassionate Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to join our team. As an EMT with Northwest Ambulance, you will play a critical role in providing timely and high-quality patient care. This position requires strict adherence to NWA policies, County Medical Protocols, and safe ambulance operation. You will be responsible for efficient task completion, accurate documentation, patient safety, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the ambulance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in vital sign interpretation, and the ability to operate an oversized vehicle safely. We are looking for individuals with strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, who can thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, and complete comprehensive patient reports.

Requirements

  • NREMT or Washington State EMT certification.
  • Active driver's license - must have maintained for 2 years or longer.
  • Clean driving record - limit of 2 citations in past 36 months; DUI and other serious offenses may disqualify candidacy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in understanding vital signs, including the correct measurement and interpretation of values.
  • Capability to operate an oversize vehicle with smoothness and safety.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Superb time management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strictly follow the policies and procedures of NWA and County Medical Protocols.
  • Efficiently complete assigned tasks and submit necessary paperwork promptly.
  • Ensure the accuracy of documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety, adhering to established procedures.
  • Operate the ambulance safely at all times, in compliance with Washington State and company regulations.
  • Collaborate with dispatchers and management to deliver compassionate and timely care during unexpected circumstances.
  • Act with integrity and support the company, its values, and its employees, while consistently striving to exceed customer expectations and deliver the highest level of patient care.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to high uniform standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and restocking of the ambulance throughout each shift.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Complete comprehensive and billable reports for each patient interaction.
