About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) PRN provides timely, high-quality emergency medical care and transportation for patients in a variety of settings. This role responds to emergencies, assesses patient conditions, administers basic life support (BLS) interventions, and safely transports patients to appropriate medical facilities. The EMT PRN follows established protocols, maintains equipment and supplies, and ensures accurate, thorough documentation of all patient care activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One (1) year of experience as an EMT.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Possess a valid EMT license issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and maintain throughout employment.
  • Possess and maintain throughout employment American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), and/or American Red Cross certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
  • Must keep all knowledge and skills current through specific continuing education as required by Oklahoma State Department of Health/EMS Division for renewing licensure.
