About The Position

Harris EMT is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for a PRN position. This role involves responding to emergency and non-emergency situations, providing advanced and basic life support care to the ill and injured. The EMT will ensure their assigned unit is properly equipped and stocked, and may be responsible for schedule coverage. The position requires a mixture of day, night, and twenty-four-hour coverage to ensure adequate service provision across various locations including patient homes, infrastructures, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. The duties are subject to modification based on the changing needs of the Harris Health System.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Current EMT Certification
• AHA, ARC, ASHI/HSI CPR

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.
• National Registry Preferred.
• One year EMT experience, preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond, treat, and react quickly and calmly to emergency and non-emergency situations to provide efficient and immediate, advanced and basic life support, care to the ill and injured.
• Ensure that during a shift that the assigned unit is properly equipped, stocked, and prepared to respond to a single or multiple patient incidents.
• Be responsible for schedules and coverage if other personnel are not available to cover a shift.
• Perform job functions utilizing the principles of “Standard Work” and be committed to learning and following Standard Work.
• Participate in improvement teams and follow established channels for process improvement ideas.
