About The Position

Respond to emergency calls and provide efficient and immediate care to critically ill and injured patients at the scene. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans and interventions. Administer basic emergency medical care including CPR, oxygen therapy, and the use of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs). Support patient medication administration as per medical protocols, including assisting with medications like nitroglycerin, albuterol, and epinephrine. Monitor and document patient conditions and their responses to treatment, ensuring all records are detailed and accurate. Safely transport patients to healthcare facilities while ensuring ongoing patient care and comfort. Maintain medical and communication equipment, as well as ensure readiness of the emergency vehicle. Collaborate with advanced medical personnel for escalated patient care needs.

Requirements

  • Current Tx EMT-B certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and protocols.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Postsecondary education in emergency medical services is preferred.
