About The Position

This position involves teaching assigned EMS courses and workforce offerings. The instructor will be responsible for delivering instruction through various methods including classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and field settings. Key duties include maintaining accurate student records, assessing student competencies, and ensuring students are prepared for certification examinations and workforce entry. The role also requires modeling professionalism, patient safety, ethics, and effective communication, while maintaining safe instructional environments and equipment. Compliance with university policies, NM EMS Bureau requirements, and clinical affiliate requirements is mandatory. The instructor must maintain their own certifications and professional competence through continuing education and practice. Participation in assessment, outreach, recruitment, and meetings is also expected.

Requirements

Appropriate qualifications to teach assigned EMS courses and workforce offerings.
Ability to maintain attendance, grades, competency documentation, and required records.
Ability to ensure accurate and timely submission of records.
Ability to assess student cognitive, psychomotor, and affective competencies.
Ability to prepare students for certification examinations and workforce entry.
Ability to model professionalism, patient safety, ethics, and effective communication.
Ability to maintain safe instructional environments, equipment, and simulation resources.

Maintain required certifications.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned EMS courses and workforce offerings.
