About The Position

Sinai Residences is seeking a service-driven, professional EMR who is responsible for servicing this Community. The Emergency Medical Responder’s (EMR) primary responsibility is to answer emergency calls, providing efficient and immediate care to ill and injured residents. The EMR is also responsible for carrying out life safety, security, concierge responsibilities.

Ability to apply basic medical-legal principles as they pertain to the EMR role
Excellent customer service skills

Ability to maintain a professional work environment
Must hold an active EMT/EMR or Paramedic certification
Must hold an active certification of CPR

Responsibilities

Render emergency medical care based on assessment findings, which may include opening and maintaining an airway, ventilating patients, administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, administering Oxygen, and providing emergency medical care of simple and multiple system trauma such as controlling hemorrhage, bandaging wounds, and manually stabilizing injured extremities.
Address general medical complaints, altered mental status, seizures, environmental emergencies, behavioral emergencies, and psychological crises.
Identify the mechanism of injury or nature of illness, the total number of patients, and request additional help if necessary.
Determine when additional support is needed and act accordingly, including communicating with on-call providers for guidance, providing ongoing assessment and care while awaiting additional EMS resources, and verbally reporting observations and emergency medical care rendered to the responding EMS unit.
Assess the extent of injury and render care while awaiting EMS providers.
Contact other EMR and/or Security for additional help when necessary.
Perform basic triage when required.
Complete post-call activities including Event Reports, restocking and replacing used supplies, cleaning and disinfecting all equipment, and checking all equipment to ensure it is in working order for the next response.
Function within the scope of care as defined by state, regional and local regulatory agencies.
Comply with regulations on the handling of the deceased, protection of property and evidence at the scene, while awaiting additional EMS resources.
Perform security sweeps to ensure secure access points remain locked.
Perform Fire Life Safety Rounds.
Assist with emergency evacuation drills and training.
Answer Concierge desk phones in a courteous and professional manner.
