About The Position

Medavie Health Services West (MHSW) is seeking to fill up to three Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) casual positions in Saskatoon, SK. MHSW is a subsidiary of Medavie Health Services, focused on operating and managing an integrated, service-led primary health care organization. Requirements

  • Must be a registered EMR with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics.
  • Must submit with resume a copy (front and back) of a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 Driver's License. (or equivalent)
  • Must submit with resume current CPR certification.
  • Must submit with resume a current (within last 60 days) valid and clean criminal record check along with a vulnerable sector check.
  • Must submit with resume a current (within last 30 days) driver’s abstract.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record.
  • Must have a high regard for confidentiality.
  • Must have excellent work habits and exhibit professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain personal knowledge and skills, in accordance with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics EMR Clinical Practice Protocols, to deliver optimum patient care.
  • Safely operate MHS - West vehicles in accordance with MHS - West Health and Safety Manual, Operational Guidelines, and all provincial and federal regulations.
  • Stocks and maintains vehicles in a state of readiness at all times.
  • Work in hazardous environments to ensure the safety and stabilization of the patient.
  • Work with outside agencies as a team in a coordinated effort on behalf of the patient.
  • Document all patient care, assessments, and skills, within the patient care report in a timely fashion.
  • Punctual and ready to respond at the start of their shift.
  • Act in a professional manner and handle conflict situations with good judgment.
  • Follow the MHS - West chain of command.
  • Create and maintain fully completed Electric Patient Care Reports. (ePCRs)
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with all provincial and federal regulations. (HIPA)
  • Refer all media requests to the General Manager of MHS - West.
  • Report all incidents and complete written incident report forms to Superintendent or designate.
