About The Position

This is a full-time, in-office position located in Albany, Georgia, serving the Southwest Public Health District 8-2. The role involves assessing training needs, planning and coordinating training sessions, drills, and exercises, and evaluating learning outcomes. The position also participates in general Emergency Preparedness planning and response activities and may require weekend and/or evening work. Excellent customer service and HIPAA standards are expected, along with the ability to respond to Public Health Emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, emergency management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, AND Two years of experience
  • OR a High School diploma or GED, AND Two years of experience in emergency management
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
  • Computer skills (Office suite)
  • Greater than one year of experience providing training or instructional services in a functional area
  • The ability to hitch, tow, and back a trailer
  • Experience developing collaborations/partnerships
  • Emergency Preparedness Experience
  • NIMS/ICS Courses: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
  • WEBEOC, GHA911, and ReadyOp Communication system experience
  • Bilingual-Spanish and English

Responsibilities

  • Serves the 14-county health district
  • Assesses training needs of staff and community partners
  • Plans and/or coordinates training sessions, drills, and exercises for the agency and its partners
  • Utilizes exercises meeting state and federal guidelines/standards as training activities
  • Evaluates training and learning outcomes
  • Participates in general Emergency Preparedness planning and response activities
  • May require weekend and/or evening work
  • Provides excellent customer service and maintains HIPAA standards
  • Responds to Public Health Emergencies
