Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, governance and continuous improvement of Toronto Hydro's emergency management and business continuity programs. The Consultant plays a key role in building organizational resilience by ensuring the Corporation is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies, maintain critical operations during disruptions, and recover key business functions in a timely manner. Operating within a progressive, cross-functional team environment, the incumbent provides leadership and governance for assigned program areas such as emergency management, business continuity, training and exercises, while also supporting the delivery of all departmental programs as operational needs require. This role is expected to provide emergency management and business continuity expertise across the department, contributing to a flexible and collaborative service model where consultants are able to support one another and respond to evolving organizational priorities. The incumbent partners with business units and internal and external stakeholders to develop, maintain, implement and exercise emergency management and business continuity plans, ensuring employees understand their roles and responsibilities before, during and after an incident. Through ongoing engagement, training, exercises and continuous improvement initiatives, the Consultant champions a culture of preparedness and resilience across the organization, ensuring plans remain relevant, actionable and regularly practiced.
