ED Tech - (Part-Time)
About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach General is hiring a part-time Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join its Emergency Department. The role may be in an inpatient or outpatient Emergency Department setting and is described as a gateway to a career in the medical field. Primary duties include drawing labs, performing EKGs, and assisting nurses and doctors with patient care. The position emphasizes teamwork to provide patient care. The schedule is 16 hours per week on nights: Monday 7 p.m.–3 a.m. and Tuesday 3 p.m.–3 a.m. The job is located at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia, a 273-bed hospital with a Level III Trauma Center and specialized tertiary and advanced clinical services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clinical experience of less than one year is required.
- At the time of hire, must have EMT-B with state or national certification, or successful completion of U.S. Military Hospital Corps School, or be a qualified MMAC candidate, or be a current student enrolled in an advanced clinical program such as RN, LPN, Respiratory, or Physical Therapy.
- Candidates previously employed in Sentara's ED Tech job code within the past two years may be considered in lieu of the listed eligibility criteria.
